THE COURSE

This training is not just about techniques…it offers a powerful trauma-informed gateway into
healing, presence, and deeper connection with yourself and others. It meets you wherever
you are on your personal or professional journey.
Through an understanding of various styles of breathwork, somatic practices,
trauma-awareness tools and emotional intelligence integration, you’ll explore pathways for
nervous system regulation, emotional release, and embodied awareness — while learning to
soften the heart and stay present with what arises.
Blending modern science, ancient wisdom, and grounded facilitation skills, this course is
designed to deepen both your personal embodiment and your capacity to hold safe, attuned
space for others.
Students will engage in experiential practices, reflective exercises, and trauma-informed
teaching methodologies to develop confidence in guiding sessions of breath & somatic
practices and post-somatic integration that supports space holding for groups and
individuals.
WITH A FOCUS ON
● Understand how emotions live in the body and how to use movement to release tension and stored trauma.
● Explore breath as a tool for deep healing, emotional release, and expanded states of awareness.
● Learn to differentiate various styles of breathwork — including which techniques support nervous system regulation and which may lead to dysregulation, such as over-activation or tetany — and how to respond skillfully when these arise in sessions.
● Develop the skills to create safe, attuned spaces, work with survival responses, and support emotional integration with sensitivity and grounded presence.
Learn how to apply parts-work tools to meet inner triggers with curiosity and care — supporting deeper emotional processing and self-understanding.
● Recognize and respond to nervous system states — in yourself and in others — with embodied awareness and appropriate tools.
● Build facilitation skills rooted in emotional intelligence, trauma-informed principles, and conscious communication — including the ethical use of language, tone, and the power of suggestion to guide others with integrity.
● Understand the importance of boundaries and consent in space-holding, and develop practical techniques to ensure psychological and energetic safety in both 1:1 and group settings.
● Experience bottom-up somatic practices like havening, shaking, resourcing, self-hug, rocking, butterfly hug, finger squeeze, vocal toning, hand positions, unfurling, intuitive movement, and more — supporting self-regulation and emotional flow.
● Learn co-regulation techniques including mirroring, shared rhythmic breathing, eye-gazing, intuitive touch, vocal attunement, and empathetic presence — and how to apply them within relational, healing spaces.
● Work with the body’s fascia and felt sense through practices like Myofascial Unwinding, Somatic Dance, and Authentic Movement — unlocking emotional and energetic release.
● Explore somatic movement to melt stiffness in tight hips, aching shoulders, and tense backs — releasing stress and supporting physical and emotional freedom.
● Guide breath and somatic sessions with clarity, presence, adaptability, and structure.
● Learn foundational space-holding techniques to navigate group dynamics, stay regulated while others process, and maintain energetic safety across different settings.
Support post-somatic integration through earth-based grounding tools inspired by the elements — water to soften, fire to release, air to re-pattern, and earth to stabilize.
THE PRACTICE

This training is an opportunity to deepen your connection to yourself through breath, movement, and embodied awareness.
It’s a space to explore how the body holds memory, how breath shapes our inner landscape, and how consistent, grounded practices can create lasting shifts.
Through somatic tools, various styles of breathwork, and trauma-informed frameworks, we’ll explore what it means to be present—not just in thought, but fully anchored in the body.
This is less about trying to be somebody, and more about being in this body—meeting yourself with clarity, curiosity, and emotional honesty.
You’ll engage in practices that support nervous system regulation, emotional integration, and the development of grounded facilitation skills.
Together, we’ll soften the heart, expand awareness, and strengthen your capacity to hold space—for yourself and others.
Join us for a week of practice, reflection, and connection—rooted in real experience, personal insight, and embodied transformation.

OUR TEACHER
JESS
Jess Palmeira is an integrative therapist, Somatics & Breathwork facilitator, and meditation teacher trainer with over a decade of experience guiding individuals through deep, body-based transformational work.
Certified in Conscious Connected Breathwork and Somatics for Embodied Leadership, she weaves together trauma-informed facilitation, nervous system regulation, and emotional release with presence, depth, and clarity.
Her work bridges ancient wisdom with modern somatic practices, grounded in both science and spirit.
Jess refers to herself as a Human BE-ing Facilitator—a title born from her devotion to raw humanity over polished performance. Her approach invites others to meet themselves with compassion, presence, and emotional honesty—less trying to be somebody, more being this body.
She is passionate about holding safe and sacred spaces for human growth, and creates environments that are both deeply supportive and professionally expansive.
Her facilitation is infused with the very tools, practices, and insights that have transformed her own path. After years of studying breathwork and somatics in separate containers, Jess felt a longing for something more integrative. Most trainings didn’t speak to the deep synergy between the two.
In response, she created the Breath & Somatics Teacher Training —a
trauma-informed bridge between modalities, blending emotional intelligence, body-based healing, and space-holding skills.
This training is a path for those ready to guide others through grounded, embodied
transformation—with authenticity, skill, and heart.

THE DAILY SCHEDULE
Typical Daily Schedule
Morning Somatics & Embodiment Practices in this teacher training are powerful yet gentle, somatic movements, breath exercises and emotional release techniques designed to connect you deeply with your body, sensations and breath.
These practices prioritize feeling and experiencing the body from within (embodiment) rather than simply achieving external outcomes.
They are especially effective in the morning to awaken the body, regulate the nervous system, and set a grounded, intentional tone for the day.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast with eggs, toast, oats, tropical fruit, home-made peanut butter, fresh juice and other delights.
After breakfast, there’s time for a self-reflection exercise (different each day) before coming back to the shala.
These classes offer a supportive space for participants to explore the connection between body, breath, mind & emotions. These sessions typically begin with a sharing circle, where individuals are invited to express their experiences and intentions in a non-judgemental environment, fostering community and emotional connection.
Through breathwork & emotional integration theories and practices, participants learn to regulate the nervous system, release tension, and cultivate inner awareness.
Somatics theory and techniques are introduced to deepen understanding of how the body stores stress & trauma and how mindful movements can promote healing and embodiment. The class blends reflective dialogue, practical tools, and experiential learning to nurture both physical and emotional well-being.
YogaUnionBali partners with local restaurants to supply the best nutrition during your stay with us. Our team of chefs create healthy vegetarian meals, a fusion of Balinese and Yogic dishes from local, organic produce, fruits, tempe, tofu and superfoods.
During this session we will provide an engaging and collaborative space to deepen understanding of breathwork and somatic practices.
This class will combine interactive lessons that explore the science and principles behind breath and body awareness with Q&A segments, allowing participants to ask questions and clarify concepts in real-time.
Through teaching practice, participants gain hands-on experience guiding others, refining their language, and developing confidence in facilitating breath and somatic techniques.
The focus is on experiential learning, open dialogue, and practical application, empowering participants to integrate these tools into both personal and professional settings.
The Group sharing sessions within a Breathing and Somatic class provide a safe and nurturing environment for participants to reflect on and integrate their experiences.
This space encourages open sharing, where individuals can express insights, emotions, or sensations that emerged during breathwork and somatic practices.
Through active listening and compassionate support, the group fosters a sense of connection and validation, helping participants feel seen and heard.
The session also focuses on integration, offering practical tools and reflective prompts to carry the benefits of the practice into daily life. This collective process enhances self-awareness, emotional regulation, and a deeper embodiment of personal healing.
Enjoy ‘you time’ in the tranquil rice fields, treat yourself to a massage, or venture out to a dance, live performance or music event.
THE COMPLETION
